The Boot and Shoe is a large old coaching in on the A638 (Wakefield to Doncaster bus route) near Ackworth roundabout. MAP
Landlord Les Thompson has built up the pubs' enviable reputation as a top venue for bands to play. The air-conditioned concert "Blue Room" has a good sized stage, lighting and excellent in house PA system. Get in for bands is to the rear of the pub loading straight on to the stage. Seating and a dance floor also make this an ideal room to hire for family events.
The pub also features another public bar with open fire and large screen TV.
There is a large car park and local facilities include fish and chips, chinese, pizza and Indian takeaways and a 24 hour garage.

The first Wednesday of every month you are invited to sit awhile and chill out in the candlelit Blue room listening to top class solos, duos, acoustic bands and hot new talent showcases. The format is simple- outstanding musicianship and talent in a variety of styles from cool jazz to country rock, soul, funk, pop, Celtic, indie acoustic, folk rock et al.
Admission is free, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, if you`ve not been yet-give it a try!!
